Zambia’s Chipolopolo Boys left it late on Sunday before knocking out Namibia 1-0 from the 2009 Cosafa Senior Challenge Cup in Zimbabwe and stay on course for an unprecedented fourth regional soccer title.

The prize for qualifying to the semifinals is a Thursday showdown against Mozambique, who earlier beat Malawi’s Flames 1-0, at the Barbourfields Stadium in Bulawayo.

The Malawi side had themselves to blame for missing numerous clear scoring opportunities in the second half of the match watched by about 5000 spectators.

Stophilla Sunzu brought back smiles on success-starved Zambian soccer fans with their victory and also gave coach Herve Renard his first win after four games.

Namibia led by man-of-the-match Quinton Jacobs were resolute at the back and occasionally made counter-attacks which were dealt with by the Hichani Himoonde-marshaled Zambian backline.
