Durban or Cape Town – the PSL captains are divided as to where the MTN8 trophy is going.
Ajax Cape Town clash with Golden Arrows in tomorrow’s Final at the Orlando Stadium.
Four PSL skippers believe the Urban Warriors’ Cup Final experience gives them the edge.
“Ajax will win, because some of their players have cup final experience,” Bidvest skipper Junaid Mashamaite kick starts the predictions.
Moroka Swallows’ Lefa Tsutsulupa and Santos’ Mogogi Gabonamong concur with Mashamaite.
“I go for Ajax, because they know what it takes to play in a Final,” Tsutsulupa says. “I think Ajax also has some great players to add to the experience,” Gabonamong adds.
“I also go for Ajax,” Bongani Khumalo of SuperSport United tells KickOff.com.
Abafana Bes’thende also has the backing of the same number of captains in their corner.
“I’ll go for Arrows, because Ajax has a new coach and obviously he can’t play the same system as they did when Muhsin Ertugral was around. I feel that they will take a bit of time to adapt to the new coach’s system, but in Arrows, they find a team that has been with their coach for a long time,” Pere Ariweriyai of AmaZulu explains.
“I go with Pere on this one,” Mamelodi Sundowns’ Esrom Nyandoro says. “Ajax has the Cup experience and that might be an advantage, but Golden Arrows play some good football so I go with them,” the Zimbabwean international says.
Mpumalanga Black Aces captain Godfrey Nobula is also on Abafana Bes’thende side.
“They will definitely win,” Nobula says confidently.
Thabo Nthethe of Bloemfontein Celtic is a bit cautious. “It is a tight one, but I think Arrows will win it.”
