The South African development team, Amabinneplaas, is set to wind up their preparations for Cosafa Cup tournament to be staged in Zimbabwe next week with a friendly game against Namibia in Windhoek on Sunday.

South Africa, who won the Cosafa Cup in Mpumalanga last year, have got a bye into the quarterfinals where they have been pitted against Angola.

Co-coach Khabo Zondo has confirms the squads departure to Namibia today (Friday) for the friendly against the Brave Warriors.

"We are very happy with the preparations even though we did not get all the players we wanted for the tournament.

"All the players selected for the squad know the importance of wearing the national team jersey and I am confident they will represent the country very well during the tournament.

"We will spend two more days working with the squad after the friendly game against Namibia before we leave for Zimbabwe," he adds.

The Amabinneplaas team players for the Cosafa Cup tournament in Harare include Joseph Makhanya, Oupa Manyisa, Warren Bishop and Rudzani Ramudzuli.

Why don't they this squad Amabenchwarmers as i only see the names of people who are benchwarmers at club level, i hope the show their club level coaches that they deserve the starting line up. I wonder if Duku-Duku can play for 90 minutes.

I won’t comment about Mr. Zondo as I believe he wont take Amabinneplaas anywhere. He has failed as a coach!

These are all the national teams we have and their nickname:
• Bafana Bafana: SA under-50
• Amaglug-glug: SA under-23
• Amajita: SA under-20
• Tornadoes – SA under-17

Which ages are these Boys???
But this one is very funny “Amabinneplaas” hehehehe!

Who are in the team?

Big Dude: 2009-10-16 08:01

The players selected fail the purpose of this team. We should be selecting a combination of U-20 and U-23 with a mixture of good players who do not get selected regurlarly ib Bafana. The average age of the team should be 22

Big Dude: 2009-10-16 08:05

I was expecting: Sangweni, Robyn johannes, Mphahlele,Mabalane,Bilankulu,Serero,Doute,Kadi,Zongo, Madubanya, Xulu, and the likes

"we did not get all the players we wanted for the tournament"

Mr Zondo, I recommend players for u whom I think may add value as well as the places where u can find them:

King & Moe4ever (left and right back): look for a white Siyaya Taxi and a brown (used to be cream white) E20. Both Taxis have stickers printed ‘Up the Bucs’

Dr Ndivhuwo (central defender): This one is difficult to find as be digs muti in dangerous places. Rather wait for him at his business place in Marabastad

Kali & Chickmagnet (Twin Strikers): These ones are always together in the streets of Selosecha in Thaba Nchu. Just ask for Popeye and Spinach they will take u 2 them

Wonder, Scorpion, The Game (versatile players): Go to Conner Couch in Mamelodi, and ask for Mambush body guards

Proffessor (goal keeper): Just get to any place that sells alcohol in Gugulethu, and ask for Kennedy Mweene, they have similar characters and looks. He can stop the ball while consuming alcohol at the same time, put it in his squeeze bottle

What is the purpose of this team?Khabo led Bay to relegation and almost destroyed Arrows.Y are they called a Development team when Makhanya and the likes are included? What a waste of time and money, instead they should be playing our u-20 team in these competitions and fuse in a couple u-17 guys. Now thats development not this nonsense.Guys next time there are SAFA elections choose me not these palookas nxa!!!...Lest you guys forget Im a Bucaneer through and Through...Teko and Gert lead our ship to calm waters in the abscence of KING JALI!!!
