Zamfara United may have lost 5-0 to Warri Wolves on the opening day of the Premier League season, but Wolves coach Lawrence Akpokona say the northern club should be cut some slack.
“They are not a bad team and they played well,” he tells KickOffNigeria.com. “But I think they were fatigued because they left Zamfara late. They only left a day to the game and you know how far Zamfara is and how travelling can be between there and here.”
Despite his magnanimity, Akpokona reserved some harsh words for his wards.
“We could have scored eight goals if my boys had not decided to play to the gallery. After they scored three goals, they started to play to the gallery. But that's Nigerian players for you.”

We could have 8 goals, if they didn't play to the gallery.

It's a golden opportunity! "The Toughest League In Africa!" The long-term marketing potential is great. Does the NFL have vision? Now is the time to show it!!!
