Double jeopardy for Taribo

Double jeopardy for Taribo

Posted: 2009-09-16 19:52

Former Nigeria defender Taribo West says he suffered twice in the space of one week as his father Mr Christopher Tom-West passed on three days before he suffered further heartbreak with the Super Eagles drawing 2-2 against Tunisia.

According to West, his father slipped and fell earlier that week, and then passed on in his sleep about two days later.

"It was a big blow for us but what can we do. In everything we give glory to God."

West, who had predicted a Super Eagles victory over Tunisia, said he has given up on qualification.

"The Tunisia I saw is not a team that will drop points. And even if they do, I am afraid that the Super Eagles may not be able to win all their remaining matches."

THE FENCE- Sorry for your old man death.May God his soul rest in peace.
I am in the same position as u are regarding SE.We did not work hard enough to deserve a qualification and besides,we have a Coach who is not only technically bereft but very confused and overwhelmed at the moment.

Taribo accept my condolence for your dad's demise. But for SE, i dont knw what 2 say, bcoz we are all in it together. I cant imagine not watching SE in 2 consecutive WCs, and perhaps, there might still be a lot of more dissappointments where that came from. I refuse to border myself over dat. Believe me bros, those bigwigs in Glass house aren't really perturbed over the failure, provided money comes out of it. This nation.... just a funny place.

I second you, Taribo. Tunisia will not drop a point with Mozambique and definitely not with Kenya. So, how could Nigeria qualify? I knew Nigeria will beat Tunisia in Abuja because Nigeria was never prepared for that game. NFF failed to arrange friendly games after Nigeria played in Tunisia. Tunisia played 2 friendly games before meeting Nigeria in Abuja. Look at the Black Stars of Ghana, after their world cup qualifying game the same weekend as Nigeria. The Black Stars went on to play Japan 3 days later. That is seriousness. NFF and Amodu will soon tranport Nigeria money abroad under the pretense of monitoring players with their clubs I.T.T's

Taribo, Sorry to hear about your loss. You know, it has always been a clash between life and death. We must accept what God has ordained. Take heart and we pray that your memories will comfort you and make you stronger day after day.

The one time rock in the defence my condolence over the loss of your father take heart,i share the same opinion the Eagles should forget SA 2010 presently thier is a report in the papers that some of the players had romance with girls a night b4 the match it is a shame to our country

P.D.P na Wayo: 2009-09-17 11:16

Taribo West......... we miss u.
Nice to hear from you again.

P.D.P na Wayo: 2009-09-17 11:18

The Tunisia that out class the eagles needs the 6 points more than ever...
NOT EVEN SURE IF 'AMODU AND CO.' CAN WIN 6 POINTS IN 2 MATCHES..

ikemefuna : 2009-09-17 16:33

taribo take heart, God gave and he has taken there si nothing any person can do about it.We shall always pray for the repose of his soul. As for SE, any person who is dreaming that Nigeria will qualify for 2010 WC in SA is having a heavy malaria attack and should look for traetment.

ikemefuna : 2009-09-17 16:40

oga taribo like say death look your face as e de so if for run go kill those poeple we no wan make SA for world cup. Abeg next time make them put your picture were you de smile no be laugh, please take heart you hear.

chidi: 2009-09-17 22:11

I'm sorry for you loss. And I pray that God will give you the strenght to bear the loss. As for the present eagles, i think it is a wishful thinking for the to qualify for the world cup. There name should be changed to Green eagles and not Super eagles cos they were beaten by the carthage eagles.
