Portsmouth: Bhasera is a free agent!

Posted: 15 September 2009 Time: 09:29

English Premiership side Portsmouth are accusing Kaizer Chiefs of lying.

Amakhosi’s football manager Bobby Motaung tells KickOff.com they are yet to agree a fee with Portsmouth for the services of Onismor Bhasera, because Pompey are in the red financially.   While chatting to KickOff.com last week, Motaung said he has a fax from Portsmouth stating that they are struggling financially and that’s the reason the two teams haven’t agreed a transfer fee yet, but negotiations are ongoing, Motaung added.     “Portsmouth have financial problems… I have a letter from them and they say they owe Chelsea, they owe this one… it is their problem, not our problem!”, Motaung responded when asked what is happening to the Bhasera deal.

“They can’t afford to pay us small change … we said it is compensation, not a transfer fee. We even said to them we will give you six months grace period to keep the player and pay us in January,” Motaung said.   Now there are fresh claims as to why the deal hasn’t been finalised, Portsmouth say on their website, quoting an unnamed club spokesperson. “The situation is that Onismor believes he is a free agent and Kaizer Chiefs say he isn’t, so we have asked Fifa to look into it to enable us to progress with the move.   “We have successfully appealed a work-permit and want the player to sign for Pompey, but he can only do so once we know the true nature of his registration. This has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with finance and to suggest such is misguided and inaccurate,” the statement reads.   “If he is a free agent, why are Portsmouth talking to us? What does his contract say? His contract expires at the end of this season (30 June 2010),” Motaung hits back.   Bhasera couldn’t be reached for comment.

In the end it's the player who suffers. Kaizer Chicks should just bite the bullet and acept it is an opportunity for the player to improve his life.

Bobby Motaung you are such an embarrassment not only to your lousy yellow (Disgusting colour) jersey team of losers but to the whole country as well. How can you disclose such embarrassing information about other fellow professionals? They trusted you with that information. You ran to Zimbabwe to buy cheap players, your stadium is not even a foundation complete because of financial problems but you have the nerve to make laughing stock of other teams. Portsmouth can buy all your cheap players at once and you too just so they can give you to the dogs. You are very unprofessional, spoilt brat.

Portsmouth a club owned by a dollar/pound billionaire...
Chiefs a club that can only afford anything that's cheap or coming from zimbwabwe-not forgetting that recession and 2010 infrastructure has hampered the club's plan of owing their own stadium...
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see whose lying here...
Why would bhasera tell chiefs in the eye that he longer wants to play for the club knowing very well that he stil has a contract to run wit the team?? As much as It's good seeing players leaving our shores-stingy clubs like chiefs should not be dishonest just because they want to cash in... When bhasera joined chiefs it was on a three yr contract! That's a fact.. So the contract would've expired by now.

Hehehe, Pompey should pay Cheaps even R500 000. Madoda, this team needs the money badly. Of course they shouldn't have lied in the first place but come on, being desperate makes you do strange things. Thatha Dr. Bobby!
