Sorry Chiefs lose again

Kaizer Chiefs have lost their third Absa Premiership game of the season as they went down 1-0 to Maritzburg United at the Orlando Stadium on Saturday.
A brilliant goal from Namibian Rudolf Bester, who later made a claim for miss of the season when he shot wide from less than a yard out, was enough to seal the points for Gordon Igesund’s side.
Fadlu Davids, Rudolf Bester, Noah Chivuta and Kulegani Madondo had early chances for United as they dominated early play, but a mixture of wayward shooting and fine goalkeeping from Arthur Bartman kept AmaKhosi in the game.
But Gordon Igesund’s side got the goal their play deserved when Bester ran the Dominic Isaacs and Jimmy Tau in the Chiefs defence, and was allowed to launch a rocket shot from 30-yards that left Bartman with no chance.
Chiefs came back into the game after the break, with Nkosinathi Nhleko forcing a fine save from Brendan Wardle in the United goal, and David Mathebula shooting over from the centre of the penalty area when he really should have hit the target.
But just how United failed to double their lead, only Bester knows. Felix Obada produced a brilliant run down the right and his low cross left the Namibian with the simplest of tap-ins from just a few feet out with the goal at his mercy. The striker somehow managed to get under the ball, however, and it looped up and was easily cleared by Chiefs.
The visitors held on for a richly deserved win though, and adds to the pressure of Chiefs coach Vladimir Vermezovic, who has now lost three of his first five Absa Premiership matches in charge.
