Kaizer Chiefs head coach Vladimir Vermezovic will not be hauled before the PSL’s Disciplinary Committee.
This comes after reports that the Serbian missed post-match interviews after his side drew 3-3 with Ajax Cape Town on Sunday in the MTN8 semifinal second leg, subsequently knocked out on a 4-3 aggregate score after losing 1-0 in the first leg.
PSL Prosecutor Zola Majavu says Vermezovic did nothing wrong.
“I got a call from someone asking me if I was aware that the coach didn’t do the post-match interviews. I immediately enquired with the Media Manager, Altaaf Kazi, and he said the coach did all the interviews he was meant to do.
“There was confusion, because the time other Journalists were looking for him, he was doing an interview with Supersport TV. Vermezovic won’t be charged by the PSL, because he didn’t break any rule,” Majavu tells KickOff.com.
It comes hot on the heels of a heavy fine for Swallows assistant coach, Zeca Marques. The PSL fined Marques R50 000 on a charge of misconduct relating to their game against Golden Arrows on August 8 at the Johannesburg Stadium.
Marques, who was the head coach for the match, was charged with misconduct as he arrived late for the prescribed pre-match coach interview in that he only arrived at 14h30 instead of 14h00, thus contravening section “A” of the media manual.
