Swallows fined by DC

The Swallows charge relates to their the failure to furnish the match commissioner, broadcaster and the referee with an appropriately completed teams sheet, which inter alia did not reflect the player registration numbers, team formation as required, etc. thus contravening media manual section “C” which is incorporated in the compliance manual, read with the rule 11 of the rules of the League, thus resulting in embarrassing confusion as the broadcasters had to rely on inadequate information.   The club was fined R100 000 of which R50 000 is payable immediately and R50 000 is suspended for 12 months on condition that the club is not found guilty of a similar offence during the period of suspension.   Marques, who was the head coach for the match, was charged with misconduct in the same match as he arrived late for the prescribed pre-match coach interview in that he only arrived at 14h30 instead of 14h00 for a 15h00 kick off, thus contravening section “A” of the media manual.   Marques was fined R50 000 of which R10 000 is payable immediately and R40 000 is suspended for 12 months on condition that the club is not found guilty of a similar offence during the period of suspension.
