Chiefs’ issues behind me - Ertugral

Ajax Cape Town coach Muhsin Ertugral says he has put the ‘Hollywood issues’ that blighted his departure from Kaizer Chiefs behind him as he plans for the MTN8 Final against a Golden Arrows team coached by Manqoba Mngqithi, who he believes gets way too little recognition.

Ertugral made a mysterious if not sensational end to his second stint at Chiefs, stepping out of the club just before the end of last season to head back to Cape Town.
 
But three months after he left Chiefs, Ertugral chooses to use some intriguing terms in outlining his departure.
 
“There were too many ‘Hollywood issues’ that I have had to put behind me, though it was a privilege to be head coach at Chiefs. I also didn’t want to stay on at Chiefs anymore and so I made it clear I wanted to leave,” reveals Ertugral.
 
Switching talk to the Cup Final, Ertugral first piled praise on his opposite number at Arrows before giving a few words about his choice of venue. 
 
“Arrows can only be judged by what they do on the field of play. Though we do not have a full squad as yet ourselves, still only on 19 players, I have respect for the way Arrows have managed to progress.
 
“To me Manqoba deserves more recognition and credit than he is getting. He has quietly gone about pushing Arrows into a team that is a force to be reckoned with.
   
“If we stay on at sea level it could be fine so Port Elizabeth might do well. However, my concern is with finding a suitable field there. If not then I suppose Bloemfontein might be a nice option since both teams will have to travel up from the coast,” says Ertugral.

The fact that you beat Chiefs doesnt necessary means you are an established coach dont fogert that you hve failed to win what matters most the league tittle...you have won all these ridiculous cup competition including an also ridiculous "Mandela Challenge" which is also ridiculous competition cause it a second stinct competition you are an "ass hole' you dont even know your birth country and also dont fogert you beat an Amateur club...go to hell!!!!!!!

I may be a Downs fan but wat this guy is saying is utter rubbish. First of all, Ertugral knows his country of birth. He waz born in Turkey and he has German citizenship. Correct me if I'm wrong, guys. Secondly, the African Winners' Cup (Mandela Cup) is not a ridiculous competition since it is a continentally recognised honour. If you can recall, Chiefs were crowned the 2001 african team of the year, ahead of Al-Ahly and Casablanca (Morocco). They achieved this under the same Ertugral you are calling an asshole, so I dont see how he is a failure. I suggest that you go and read and be well-informed about PSL before coming here and speaking your rubbish.

I’d love to comment about this article But this Mosquito called juan pablo: 2009-08-24 16:32 hijacked my thoughts. This punk has the ***** to call CHIEFS amateur team; yet has no ***** to satisfy his woman, embarrassing.

Back to the topic, Mushin is a great coach but definitely NOT a great manager. He lacks human management skills and I think he can only succeed when coaching young stars between 15 and maybe 22 to 23 years. He cannot deal with mature individuals.

Thank you for delivering a few medals at The VILLAGE Mushin, nobody can take that away from you and I respect your coaching skills, however I hate your human part.

Let me correct you dunderhead, the Cup Winners Cup (Mandela Cup) which is now Confederation Cup is not the Mandela Challenge which is a friendly game between Bafana Bafana and foreign national teams. It is CAF and FIFA sanctioned Cup like the Champions league. your team have never won anything in Africa and until they match Chiefs to become Africa club of the year they will remain unknown in the world of football. You said you hate all Chiefs fans and they suck. Why do you hate them? There is only one reason for that which is jealousy because they are associated with a winning brand. Putting the Mandela Cup aside, under Ertugral Chiefs won the 2001 African Team of The Year. My question is: Does that define a failure? Lyk I said, I'm a Sundowns fan but we are meant to give credit where it is due and not let our judgements be clouded by emotions or feelings towards a rival team.
