Former Kaizer Chief coach Ernst Middendorp has been sacked from his latest job after just three months in charge.
Anorthosis Famagusta of Cyprus have handed him the sack after their early elimination in the preliminary rounds of the Uefa Europa League. He has been replaced by the 56-year-old Serbian Slavoljub Muslin, who had received the sack from Belarus champions Dinamo Minsk for much the same reason.
Middendorp saw his side go out to FK Petrovac of Macedonia after extra-time in the second leg of their tie at the end of last month. They lost 4-3 on aggregate. The club also cancelled the contract of their Bosnian goalkeeper Nemanja Supic.
Middendorp signed Delron Buckley to join him for the start of the new season in Cyprus, but did not get to coach a single League game. The new Cyprus League starts on August 29.
Since leaving Chiefs, Middendorp has flopped at his hometown club Arminia Bielefeld in the Bundesliga and also in China.
