The 22-year-old arrived on Wednesday and spoke of his trial on Pirates’ website. “I really had a good time and enjoyed every moment on trial with RC Lens,” he says. “I strongly believe I have done well. I was the only trialist who completed three weeks with the team, while others could only last for three to four days. I played my favourite position, which is centre-back, in all the four friendly matches that I took part in. “It was tough, but I was willing to make my mark and represent my team, country, as well as not to disappoint my manager [Walter Mokoena], who believes in me so much. I am confident of good news as the feedback from the coach was very positive and encouraging, so I am just waiting for Mr Mokoena for further developments concerning my future overseas next season,” he says. Jele is in Pirates’ squad for tomorrow’s Telkom Charity Cup in Rustenburg. “I trained with the rest of my teammates on Thursday morning and I am happy that I have been included in the Charity Cup squad for this weekend,” Jele says. Mokoena couldn’t be reached for comment.
