Tawrick finally gets U-20 chance

Teenage sensation Tawrick Jibril will finally get his chance to impress in the national U-20 team after Sellas Tetteh included him in the squad heading for Switzerland.

The Hearts of Oak man was in fine form in the closing stages of the season and has been rewarded for that with a call up for two games in Switzerland against the U-20 side of the United Arab Emirates on August 9 and August 12.   Tetteh stuck to the bulk of the team that won Ghana the Africa Youth Champions but there are not notable absentees from that side.   Dede Ayew, the captain of the side has been excused from the two games so he can sort out his club future after he was declared surplus to requirement at Olympique Marseille and denied a deal at Hertha Berlin.   Ransford Osei whose seven goals were fundamental in taking Ghana to the title will sit out the two games so he can settle well into his new club at Twente Enschede in Holland.   There are also call ups for Portugal based Ishmael Yartey, and the Spain based duo of Daniel Opare and Saddick Adams who were all dropped for the Africa event in Rwanda.
