Masango - We don't show respect

Mandla Masango tells KickOff.com that one of the reasons Kaizer Chiefs managed to beat Manchester City in the Vodacom Challenge Final on Saturday is that they didn’t show the English Premiership side any respect.
Man City are regarded as the wealthiest club in the world after a takeover by an Abu Dhabi United Group in September last year. Masango, however, says that didn’t concern the Amakhosi players.
“We didn’t care how much they earn and stuff like that. All that mattered to us was that we didn’t have to respect them on the field. Yes, when we were outside the field we respected the fact that they have some big names.
“But we are all equal on the field and that’s exactly how we approached the game,” says the Chiefs’ youngster.
Chiefs’ 1-0 win made it five Vodacom Challenge titles for the Phefeni Glamour Boys out of the 10 tournaments in all since 1999.
