Okocha: Nothing achieved yet

Former Nigeria captain Austin Okocha says the Super Eagles will have to do it all over again when they face Mali on Wednesday.

The Eagles defied all expectations to beat tournament favourites Cote d'Ivoire in the quarter-finals, but Okocha says nothing has been achieved yet.

"We all celebrated when they beat Cote d'Ivoire but we have to understand that as good as that result was, they have not achieved anything yet," Okocha warned.

"Beating Cote d'Ivoire is good, but it is not silverware. Now is when the real work starts and they have to play with the same determination that they played against Cote d'Ivoire.

"Now they are no longer underdogs, they are the favourites and Mali will play them the same way they played Cote d'Ivoire. So they must play Mali as if they are playing against Brazil or Spain."

Okocha, who is taking a private jet from Johannesburg to Durban to see the game, says despite the inexperience in the squad, they have shown that they can do anything they want

"I must confess that I was surprised by the way they played. But I believe that if they play the same way, they can get to the Final."

JJ...true dat, i hope this will inspire RSA and show them that mediocre/2nd place is not celebrated cause you always have to strive for the best, to be no. 1. BafanaX2 cant be happy cause they reached the quarters(1win, 2 draws, 1 lose) they have been long in the international stage for them to say they have improved and are building for the future(government always say the same about service delivery), this mentality must STOP!!!

How Kick Off why do you have to mention Okocha taking a Private Jet. How relevant is that to the story, or you want to make us aware that Jay Jay can afford private jet.

We celebrated that draw as it was a turning point.But as JJ also pointed out, we didnt take that as silverware hence we went on to record 5 cups thereafter.

Jay Jay, you're a true eagle .., and you understand footaball like you play.. hopfully you will be a good coach like guardiola.. i think Mr. Okocha said it all. now everyone will look at us like favorite and mali will play with the same determination we played Ivory coast, so we need to play them like playing vs spain , brasil, germany, etc. in fact we need to play them like this is the final. because nothing had been acheave yet.., we deserve to be in the final, and in order to be to the final we need to bit mali... so please play them like this is our last game, i mean like this is the final.
