A lot of us in this forum are destined to believe that the SE will roll over for CIV will walk all over us. I do disagree with that school of thought. I believe will be a different ball game that will incite a different game plan. One major draw back is the absence of Ogude in the MF (2 yellow cards). CIV is very much going to be under immense pressure and the SE will play as if they have nothing to loose. Every body expects CIV to win that game and it can be very traumatic if by the 45th min the game is still draw. To fantasize, I will deploy Efe in the MF to play behind Mikel and mark Yaya Toure in the MF. I will pair Moses and Emenike upfront and flank Mikel with Mba and Uzoenyi (yes, Uzoenyi may be the joker in the team). Then the defence will be Elderson (LFB), Oboabona and Yobo (CDF) and Omeruo (RFB). Enyeama in goal. Good luck boys. So it will be a 4-4-2 with a diamond formation, with Mikel at the tip of the diamond.

It is become damning and irritating why we are in a hurry to fire the coach. Same Nigerian mentality, quick results, cutting corners and using apiam way to achieve incredible results. Samson Siasia did not take us to the last edition of the Nations cup, the same Ethiopia he could not defeat with the stars on parade that year have been defeated by Keshi's super chicken. Siasia has a problem just like Keshi too. Firing Keshi will not help. It takes a long time to build a team. Burkinafaso started building this team more than 4 yrs ago. Remember that they were in the last edition of ACN. Cape Verde also started building this team more than 4 yrs ago, with university students. CIV, we need not to think too deep to remember that they have been together for more than seven years (ie the core of the team). Just analyse our team with objective mind. These guys have never been together before now, they have never played in any major tournament and yet they have managed to make it to the QF of this edition of ACN, which to me is even more difficult than the last edition Siasia could not qualify us for. We praised Keshi when he qualified us by beating Liberia mercilessly. He kept on reminding all of us all that this team is a work in progress. Why have we easily forgotten his statement. World cup qualifiers is around the corner, why can we not be patient enough with this team. May be it is because we had so much expectations about their ability. From my point of view, this team have impressed me. On their ability to beat CIV, QED.

To be honest is not the best advise to be firing coaches but the problem with the NFF is they do not have a sound technical department or they are too corrupt. Tell me what are the perimeter used in hiring coaches for SE. Keshi is not a good coach throught out our group stage matches you can see there is no technicality in Nigeria games not to talk of the team selection or substitution. Please is high time we need to tell ourselves the truth . We need a good sound foreign coach that under Africa football. NFF has failed us all with their decision on selecting coaches for the national team

A big mistake many Nigerian coaches siasia and Keshi make is, when they take over , they want to bring in new players. They just throw away the players that were there before. That is wrong. It means they take Super eagles one step forward, nine steps backward. Why did Keshi abandon the team he met to start building with fresh players. And the NFF allowed that. Look around you. Many countries and club change coaches but the players remain and continue formimg a bond.
Ivory coast changed their coach after they fail to win the AFCON last year but the players remained. And they have formed an unbreakable bond. Ghana changed their coach yet the players remained. Even you will agree that Nigerians will pray hard not to meet Ghana the way they are now.
Another thing Keshi did that is so unprofessional is taking sick players to the nations cup. What is a player with chicken pox doing there. Agreed that it is a sickness that lasts a couple of days people with it need to stay clear from others for the period they have the rash because it is infectious. Also, what degree of activity can the player involve in during the period of the sickness and the following convalescing period? Not much. That also makes him match rusty. So of what use is such a player in this tournament? Nothing except to collect match bonus. What was Keshi and his medical team thinking? Now that fengor is not playing in the QF finals, who will do the dirty job? Is it injured Reuben. Another blunder by Keshi. Reuben has been injured for many months and is currently match rusty. When players recover, they go through rehabilitation before they start playing big matches?
Again, he had the opportunity of taking dike (with his fantastic height and build) but he preferred his ejike to that. Of what use will ejike be now that the competition is on? Dike would have been of great use especially since the midfielders are playing long balls because of the often choked midfield and since many of them are not ball jugglers. Emenike is overwhelmed. He is not too tall to deal with those long balls. Now we are facing ivory coast giant defenders.
These are the mathematics I have worked out and I feel we don't have have a chance.
Please, do not say football is not mathematics nor scientific. It is hence coaches who can analyse ( a scientific art) can often win matches better than those who just shout nonsense

As an addendum, we are not in this AFCON with our best legs because we have a coach who discarded them because he wants to build a new team when our discarded players are neither old nor out of form. I think ego may have been a strong factor.
Somebody will say those players did not qualify for AFCON 2012 but this is not the first time that good players did not win a match. If anything, change the coach but retain the players to form a bond. Di Matteo won the champions league with the same Chelsea players that AVB was flopping with.

I don't understand why our ex-internationals see nigeria coaching job as a birth right. Been an ex-footballer doesn't necessarily mean you could be a good coach; they are different things apart in all practical sense and Jose Mourinho is a testament to that fact. None of our indigenous coaches have shown they have the tactical knowledge of modern soccer thus far; they just believe having played for nigeria before they are good coaches and unfortunately the NFF is buying that but simply too because the FA officials are not people with sound knowledge and understanding of football management. I am a USSF B license coach and i certainly know what i'm commenting about. It was sad watching the eagles yesterday play that way in a must win game yet the coach could come out to say he was pleased with the performance; really! that just sum up how clueless Keshi's understanding of the game is. No need to start mentional the many flaws tactically i witnessed yet nothing was done to adjsut for the duration of the game. The game was won by sheer yeo effort of Moses trickery and the inexperience of Ethiopia defender. Nothing was tactical in our game for whole duration of the game. No doubt nigeria have the talents, but we'll keep deceiving ourselves until we adopt the right approach of managing our teams. keshi certainly will not help this team after watching many of his games; as ex captain, he is no doubt very passionate about the super eagles but passion is different from tactical understanding of coachingf the game. I am not a fan of Siasia either, but if he had not allowed arrogance and 'more than thou' attitude to run him down he could be a successful national team coach. The fact is, it was too early for Siasia to think he can manage the national senior team. If he had taken time to learn more staying with the junior sides, he could perhaps be a great national Head coach with his inherent traits but after coaching junior sides with some relative paltry success with seeming use of over age players, he thought he had arrived and the NFF bought into that. He should have learnt more under an experience foreign coach before jumping into the responsibility of managing the super eagles. Siasia was coaching a youth U10 team here in Atlanta and just suddenly became the national handler; from what experience, what level of education, what level of license?
NFF have enough money to share but don't have enough to hire a foreign coach; we will remain at this level unless we do the right thing than recycling these ex internationals that knows nothing about coaching the modern game. Hire a foreign coach and let Siasia and/or Oliseh learn from such reputable coach then we could be thinking indegenous coach in near future but for now we are wasting time and resources on Keshi and co. It is an outer disgrace as a nigerian to see our nigeria team play the way they have been playing and the coach coming out to say he's pleased with their performances. common!

Remember, Siasia's toughest test was Argentina and he won 3-1....

It is only in Nigeria where everybody is a coach.... When we loose game everybody jumb to analyse what techniques were used...most of whom end up blaming the midfield... When are we going to learn rating coaches by results and the standard or status of matches played... The nations cup is far better and greater than the FIFA under age tounaments... In Nigeria, we are always comparing these class D rated competitions...
I do not care anymore about the unreasonable fans and media. All I know is that they are worst than the NFF... It is a stupid measure to support Chelsea of last season and hate Keshi's Eagles, because Eagles are even playing compared to the anti-good soccer Chelsea played enroute to champions league victory...
It beats my imagination the way many Nigerians, who can barely understand the basic rules of football talk about technicalities.... Ask them about the basic off site rule, ball to hand, situational decisions, etc, they will all give non-existent answer... If you want to be a coach, then start from your village team... We are not professional coaches, therefore, we should only judge by results not by tactics...because we are incapable of pointing out what is on ground or what is been planned...

I have said this words for almost a month now, this team have nothing good going for it, look at yesterday's game will be a testimony of the limited football knowledge that Keshi had, they say when your job is on the line that is when you bring out your best, my God if that is Keshi's best then we are truly in big problem, no combination passes, no good ball movement, yobo is running because he does not want to hang his career on a losing team, it was after the second goal he came in, mikel is running from another penalty because he dose not want to miss another one, victor Moses had to step up to take the penalty after been flawed because everybody is running and he almost missed the second penalty which show our boys are not confident in them self. So even if we play draw with CIV, who will play the penalty for us. My people no matter how we look at this the next game CIV will walk through the valley of the shadow of death.

i dint know about the type of licenses keshi or siasia have, or i dont know either what type of licens a coach need to be qualify to coach a national team, but what i know, is that.., jugign the way a specific team or teams are playing if you watch them two or three time you will at least know that the coach know what to do.

to be honedt keshi is not the right man for the super eagle. i never seen super eagle plying so badly in all my life. this team doesnt even have identity. same thing happen if you remember the malien team of the afcon 2010 in angola, was playing so bad like super eagle is doing, keshi need to learn with a foreign coach the modern game. i still even think that this generation of players can play better without keshi than having keshi with them. 1st game at this tournament u said u have studied burkinabes video clip that u will roast them that they are no threat at the end of the match those guys where the one who studied our history they knew we are use to losing concentration towards the end of any game and they did,,, the 2nd match same story and we almost lost, then the last match u said we ll beat them convincingly but what did we see, we saw eagles that cant even make two passes.
now u are saying u have a game plan... keshi please dont have a game plan cos all the ones u had is tell the boys play long pass to the strikers so that they can bulldozer their way through that all. and it did not work against Ethiopia cos their coach already knew how stupid style and decided to play deep defense and keshi could not read that for 90minutes .. na wah
