Jaja, Nnaji face bans
Outgoing NPL executive committee member Ray Nnaji and former President of the Nigeria Referees Association, Sam Sam Jaja, risk lifetime bans from the Nigeria Football Association unless they withdraw their respective court cases against the NPL within 24 hours.

Nnaji and Jaja have both gone to court to challenge their disqualification from contesting the coming elections into the board of the NPL, and the body's Executive Secretary Al hassan Yakmut warned that severe penalties would be handed down.

"Without prejudice to court litigation, all statutes of CAF and Fifa will not be spared against all those who went to court," he threatened.

"They have only 24 hours to withdraw their cases and seek appropriate means of addressing complains, otherwise we will tell them that we are not only in government but we are in power."

Yakmut added that there were avenues in football for aggrieved parties to seek redress, and urged them to explore those avenues, up to the Court of arbitration for Sport (CAS), rather than resort to ordinary courts.
