Injury crisis for Dolphins
Dolphins are facing an injury crisis ahead of Saturday's Garden City derby against old rivals Sharks, but assistant coach Ndubuisi Nduka remains confident his team will triumph at the Liberation Stadium which both teams call home.

Sharks have no such worries, with central defender Samuel Iroh the only doubt, although Kelechi Uroh is still recovering from a broken leg sustained last season and has played no part in the campaign so far.

The Dolphins quartet of Sunday Rotimi, Victor Babayaro, Adaji Husseini and Christian Ofili will not play any part in Saturday’s derby game against Sharks.

The foursome are currently injury hit and are undergoing treatment at the club’s mini clinic. Sunday Rotimi hurt his knee in the 3-2 loss to Zamfara United in Gusau; Adaji Husseini has a simple radius fracture in his right hand; while Victor Babayaro has a fracture of the jaw bone.

Christian Ofili, who played through the pain barrier in Gusau, has pulled a hamstring.

Outside of the injury concerns, defender Mike Simon is also unavailable as he has been excused to prepare for his wedding.

However, there is some good news for Dolphins, as defender Uche Oguchi and midfielder Sunday Mba are in serious contention to make their debuts for the club.

Oguchi, a right full back who can also fill in at centre half, joined Dolphins from Enyimba while Sunday Mba joined from Rangers.

“Both players have been with the club since the start of the season but needed time to shake off their off season lethargy and that has been the reason for their absence from the starting line up since the start of the season,” Dolphins Media Officer China Acheru said.

Olukayode:2009-10-17 02:26

I always enjoy all your comments as you are very passionate about nigerian football...the main problem of Nigerian football is not age cheating because even Ghana that just won the U20 world cup had quite a number of overage players but continuity. If Roger Miller could dazzle the world at an age well over 40 then why can't our overage players win the world cup. Watch out for the Ghanaian U20 team and seems to be having the organization spot on. I am a Nigeria in US and read through comments on this site. People should also forgive Siasia, he has learnt his lesson as he has been humbled. The watch word is CONTINUITY .......

@Stilo, let me correct you on three things

· Siasia won the AYC tournament in 2005
· Beijing was in 2008 and not 2007 as you keep saying
· The correct spelling for “bastard” is I have written it, and not the way you have spelled it.

So please try and educate yourself better before you come on to this forum.
It is obvious that you have a confused head with, very low analytical skills. What’s more like you bosses in the NFF, you know nothing.
