Bernard Parker won a call-up to Cosafa Castle Cup side for the Group B tournament in Swaziland in 2007 at the end of his first PSL season, having already won 12 caps at Under-23 level.

He was sold by Thanda Royal Zulu to Red Star Belgrade for some 800,000 Euros in January 2009, though that agreement had to be annulled due to non-payment of transfer fee, after which he joined FC Twente for 1-million Euros in July 2009.

Parker struggled for game-time in the Netherlands, prompting him to sign with Kaizer Chiefs in 2011.

He failed to make an impact in his first season with the club, but came back strongly in the 2012/13 campaign, scoring 12 Premiership goals – one behind top scorer Katlego Mashego – to help Amakhosi claim League honours.

Parker, who competed at the 2009 Confederations Cup, the 2010 World Cup and the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations, is able to play as a central striker or out wide.
