SuperSport United midfielder Reneilwe Letsholonyane believes teammate George Lebese will finally step up and show that he can be a big player in the PSL.
Lebese joined Matsatsantsa from Tshwane rivals Mamelodi Sundowns on transfer deadline day last month, a big relief after he did not play a single game for the defending Absa Premiership champions in the first half of the season.
Now he has a better chance of playing regularly at SuperSport until the end of the season when his loan deal expires and Letsholonyane is confident the 30-year-old can make the most of the opportunity.
“It’s good to see him [back on the pitch]. What makes me happy is that he is playing again. We are footballers and the only thing that makes you happy as a footballer is when you are playing. I know what he is capable of, I know he has talent,” Letsholonyane tells KickOff.com.
“He has potential to be big. The past season-and-a-half disturbed his progress, so I still think he has the potential to be a top and influential player in a team. Him being here and getting an opportunity gives him that chance again.
“It’s about time that he steps up and shows the country, or the world, that he has the ability and that he is a good player. He has the experience and he has played for big teams.”
Lebese could get a chance to start for the first time this season when SuperSport host Baroka FC at Lucas Moripe Stadium on tonight (20h15).
