Former Kaizer Chiefs and SuperSport United striker Kingston Nkhatha has returned to South Africa following a brief spell back home in Zimbabwe.

Nkhatha on Tuesday joined National First Division outfit Mbombela United after penning an 18-month deal, the club confirmed.

The 33-year-old left South Africa for the first time since arriving at Free State Stars from CAPS United in December 2007, after seeing out his contract at Matsatsantsa at the end of last season.

The Warriors frontman spent a short spell with Dynamos in the Zimbabwe Premier League, where they ended fourth on the table in November last year.

Nkhatha, a two-time Absa Premiership winner with Amakhosi, is set to add experience to Mbombela's frontline as they gun for promotion with 10 games remaining in their campaign.
