Valencia clinch Copa last eight spot

Valencia made light work of Sporting Gijon to advance to the next round of the Copa del Rey on Tuesday.

Valencia secured their ticket to the quarter-finals of the Copa del Rey after thrashing Gijon 3-0 at the Mestall.

A brace from Santi Mina and a further striker Ferran Torres secured a comfortable win for the hosts.

Real Valladolid 1-1 Getafe

Getafe booked their spot in the next round of the cup after managing a 1-1 draw in the second leg.

After claiming a 1-0 win in the first leg, Angel's penalty in the 29th minute made it 2-0 on aggregate, while Daniele Verde bagged a consolation for Valladolid.

Angers 1-2 Bordeaux

Bordeaux got back to winning ways in the French top flight with a 2-1 victory over Angers on Tuesday.

Samuel Kalu put the visitors ahead after 31 minutes, but Mateo Pavlovic restored parity for Angers in the 64th minute, just moments after Jeff Reine-Adelaide missed a penalty for the hosts.

Bordeaux then secured the winning goal thanks to Yann Karamoh's third goal of the campaign in second minute of time added on.
