Kaizer Chiefs forward Khama Billiat has described his goal against ZESCO United as bittersweet after they suffered a hefty defeat in Ndola on Sunday.

Billiat got a potentially crucial away goal in their CAF Confederation Cup play-off first leg tie against ZESCO as Chiefs fell to a 3-1 defeat at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.

The 28-year-old ended a five-match dry run, having last scored a hat-trick in their Confed Cup opener against Zimamoto back in November, but was unable to inspire his side to a positive result.

Thus, The Warriors star felt his goal was of little significance given they failed to get the desired outcome from their first encounter with the Zambian champions.

“We didn’t come here to lose. Of course, it’s a great feeling to score, but it would have been an even better feeling if we would have won or we would have gotten a draw," Billiat said after the match.

"We will do better on Saturday,” he promised.

Quizzed over his scoring form and whether he would be hoping to add to his Confederation Cup goal tally of four goals in the campaign so far, the Zimbabwean insisted that as long as the team wins and progresses he will be content.

"I would like to [score again]. But it’s not so important if I score, it’s more important that we will go through as that’s what we all want,” he added.

The return leg will be hosted at the FNB Stadium on Saturday evening (20h00 kick-off).
