Free State Stars caretaker coach David Vilakazi feels his side had enough chances to clicnh a point against Orlando Pirates.

Ea Lla Koto ended the year with a 3-1 defeat at the hands of the Soweto giants at Goble Park on Tuesday evening.

Vilakazi, who has been charge since Luc Eymael's departure, feels they would have been talking a different story if they had converted their chances.

“Even first half when we were under pressure, we had opportunities which I personally think, four chances I think we should have utilised two of them and we would be talking something now," Vilakazi told SuperSport TV.

“In the second half, we spoke to them and said we should allow them the space to play long balls which they are not good at it. They are good at playing the ball on the ground.

“After doing that we managed to score a goal and also had chances, which I thought we could have equalised or get something out of it but we could not utilise them.

“We conceded late with another mistake after another went down whereas he should’ve just guided him until he goes out of the field. But second half we did very well. Unfortunately what counts is the goals,” he said.
