Ea Lla Koto await Serbian coach

Serbian coach Nikola Kavazovic needs to first settle the buyout clause he's got with AFC Leopards before he can join Absa Premiership side Free State Stars.

According to a source, the former Township Rollers coach's contract with the Kenyan giants hasn't been terminated yet.

"Since he is still contracted to Leopards and if there are no more surprises, yes the Serbian will be coaching in South Africa soon," the informant tells KickOf.com.

"Remember, he can't have two contracts at the same time. But it's not up to Leopards to decide whether to release him or not. Kavazovic has a clear release clause ... when Leopards gets the money, he is a free agent. He is currently in Serbia. His assistant at Leopards Marko Vasiljevic, who previously won four titles working with him, is in charge at the moment.

"He has agreed to a two-and-a-half year deal with Stars. He is coming on Monday. He will first clear [it] with Leopards by paying that buyout clause amount. He is beginning with preparations for the Wits game on the 18th since he has asked that players get four days off on the 14th."

Asked to comment on the matter, Stars general manager Rantsi Mokoena confirmed that they are expecting Kavazovic's arrival this week.

"Ja, he is at home. I will make the announcement by Thursday or Friday but for now he is at home. He will arrive in the country on Thursday," Mokoena says.

Assistant coaches David Vilakazi and Selaotse Mosala have been steering Ea Lla Koto in an interim capacity following the departure of Belgian mentor Luc Eymael in mid-November.
