Chippa United have hired former AmaZulu and Santos goalkeeper Tshepo Motsoeneng as their new assistant coach.

Motsoeneng, who represented Chippa during his playing days, coached Eastern Cape-based ABC Motsepe League outfit Tornado FC last season.

The 39-year-old replaces Vincent Kobola, who left the Chilli Boys when Eric Tinkler was sacked at the beginning of the month.

According to a Chippa official, the club have also recalled video analyst Sinesipho Mali to serve under new head coach Joel Masutha.

"Tshepo Motsoeneng is now our new assistant coach," said the official.

"Sinesipho Mali is also back in the club as part of the technical team."

Ex-Black Leopards mentor Masutha will start his reign at the relegation-threatened club with a trip to mid-table Cape Town City on Tuesday.
