Bidvest Wits striker Gabadinho Mhango was thrilled to get a rare run against Black Leopards in the Absa Premiership.
Mhango, 26, scored the game’s only goal after making his second appearance of the season off the bench at Peter Mokaba Stadium last weekend.
"Last game I played was eight minutes or 10 minutes I think and it was against SuperSport, and this game I played about 15 minutes," Mhango told KickOff.com.
"I thank God because it's been long since I've been on the pitch. I just thank God man. Yeah, for me as a player it's important for me to be playing games, so I just hope to be part of the team again and start playing games."
Asked about his relationship with coach Gavin Hunt, the Malawi international, who still awaitsfeedback from Vitoria Setubal following his trial in Portugal, said: "He was just like, 'No, I'm happy for you and I wish you all the best'. That was after the game. As a player I just wish that the team does well, does good, that's what I want.
"I can't talk about individuals because in football you don't play alone, we play as a team. For me it's good that I scored last week because I have been out for so long. So for me to score sometimes it gives me motivation. And the welcoming of me back, it was good I think. I can't talk about the next game for the team. I think we just need to start winning again. We want totake each and every game ... ja, we'll see from there.
"I don't know, I don't about that [his relationship with Hunt]. I'm a player who wants to win every day, who wants to achieve in football, who wants to achieve some trophies. That's what I want. I think for me it's good that I can build up a relationship with everyone in the team."
