Mosimane gave credit to Tembo after Sundowns won the Tshwane derby 2-1 at Lucas Moripe Stadium last weekend.

Tembo took charge of United, who are sixth on the Absa Premiership table with 19 points from 12 matches, in the off-season on a permanent basis following multiple spells as caretaker coach of the club.

"I am happy with Tembo. He has never disappointed since he took over the coaching reins," Mosimane said.

"He shows he deserves the opportunity. Sometimes we had 4-0 or 5-0 against SuperSport but Tembo is strong, he puts the game on the edge.

"It's not easy but the Tshwane Derby always has goals."

Downs' victory on the weekend extended their unbeaten league run to 24 league games dating back to January, while the champions are also undefeated in the past 11 meetings with Matsatsantsa.

Mosimane's side, in third spot in the standings with 21 points from 11 games, will next host Baroka at Lucas Moripe Stadium on December 11.

SuperSport will resume their league campaign against Kaizer Chiefs at Mbombela Stadium on December 12.
