Black Leopards manager Tshifiwa 'Chief' Thidiela says the club are close to appointing their new coach after whittling down the options to three men.
Former Gor Mahia coach Dylan Kerr is thought to be leading the race to replace Joel Masutha at Leopards, who have also been linked with a move for ex-Free State Stars mentor Luc Eymael.
According to a source, Kerr appears to be the favourite.
"The chairman [David Thidiela] promised to give Luc a reply yesterday evening but he didn't," said the source.
"I think they will sign another coach which is Dylan Kerr, the former coach of Gor Mahia, who never coached in the PSL. And if you compare the league of Kenya and the PSL there is a big difference. On the other side Thidiela has been trying to appoint Luc for a while now, so he cannot miss the opportunity because he is now free."
KickOff.com contacted Chief' Thidiela for comment. He said: "Not yet but we are close. I think the shortlist is still on three now, we need just to finalise."
Asked if Kerr was on their shortlist, he replied: "Uhh I don't know. I can't give you names, who is there and not there."
Kerr, a former Mpumalanga Black Aces assistant coach to Aiki Agiomamititis and Sammy Troughton, recently resigned from Kenyan giants Gor.
Belgian Eymael, who is well known for transforming small PSL sides into challengers, did the same at Stars last week after turning them into Nedbank Cup champions last season.
