Mamelodi Sundowns defender Mosa Lebusa says he’s been trying to motivate teammate Rivaldo Coetzee, who has not played in the topflight for over a year.

Lebusa and Coetzee have reunited at Sundowns after they both started their professional careers at Ajax Cape Town.

Coetzee joined Sundowns last year in August after a move to Scottish giants Glasgow Celtic fell through when they discovered during a medical that he has an underlying foot injury.

Sundowns were quick to make an offer for him, but the talented defender has not been able to make his official debut for the defending Absa Premiership champions due to the injury.

The 22-year-old recently featured in the Multichoice Diski Challenge, though it was not long before he sustained another injury.

“It’s unfortunate for him that he got injured. He’s been out for a long time, but he’s making his way back. He is a very good defender, he is young and he still has time. When he’s fully fit and back in the team, then he will do what he does best,” Lebusa tells KickOff.com.

“We talk every day and he keeps on telling me that he wants to play so bad, but because the medical team knows best when it comes to his injury, I keep telling him that he has to be a little patient and that his time will come.”
