Real appoint Solari as new coach

Santiago Solari has been appointed the permanent coach of Real Madrid, following a successful interim spell.

Solari was place in charge on interim basis last month followin the sacking of Julen Lopetegui after the humiliating defeat to FC Barcelona.

Since then, Los Blancos have won all four games under Solari across all competitions.

Solari, who is a former Real midfielder, has now been handed a three-year contract at the Santiago Bernabeu.

A statement from Real read: The Board of Directors of Real Madrid CF, meeting today November 13, 2018, has agreed to the appointment of Santiago Solari as coach of the first team until June 30, 2021.
