Arsenal left it late to grab a 1-1 draw at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers in the English Premier League.
Wolves took an early lead thanks to a good finish from Ivan Cavaleiro inside 13 minutes after finishing off an exchange of passes with Raul Jimenez at the near post.
There was a chance for a second, but good goalkeeping from Bernd Leno kept out Helder Costa and Jimenez after a counterattack from an overflow by Alexandre Lacazette.
On 27 minutes, Costa threatened to break through but Leno was able to get down to palm the accurate effort wide of goal.
With Matt Doherty setting up Jimenez on the edge of the box, the forward’s first time effort sailed wide across goal on 36 minutes.
Five minutes from the restart, Jimenez chased down a long ball over the top before falling on the pressure from Rob Holding but the referee vehemently dismissed the penalty appeal.
In one of a few openings for the Londoners, it led summer signing Lucas Torreira to attempt a long range shot which Rui Patricio watched calmly as it fly over the top.
The Portuguese produced another strong save from Torreira as he got around his goal to tip the accurately struck shot from danger on the half and hour mark.
Arsenal tried by all means to get back in it, and Hector Bellerin’s first time strike after receiving from a deeper position went over the crossbar.
The post then came to the Wolves aid after Pierre Emerick Aubameyang’s close range strike after founding space six yards from the box on 73 minutes.
The Gunners did find the breakthrough on 87 minutes with Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s cross from the left side crept off the post and into an empty net.
Late in added time, Adama Traore set up Morgan Gibbs-White on the edge of the box but the latter’s first time shot came off the crossbar as the game ended in a stalemate.
