Out-of-favour Bidvest Wits striker Thobani Mncwango is hoping his fortunes will change at the club.

Wits coach Gavin Hunt have made it clear Mncwango is not in his plans, as evidenced by the player's absence of game-time this season.

According to a source, management tried to cancel Mncwango's contract in the last transfer window but the two parties couldn't reach a settlement agreement.

"Wits wanted to give him one month's settlement but they could not agree," says the source.

Mncwango, however, is putting on a positive front.

"I am still training with the club," says the former Polokwane City hitman.

"I am training hard like any other player in the club and hope my chance will come."

The 30-year-old has only played five times since joining the Clever Boys from City in January.

He is behind the likes of new signings Simon Murray, Mxolisi Machupu and Gift Motupa in the pecking order at Sturrock Park.
