Chippa United coach Eric Tinkler felt his side deserved to walk away with three points after the amount of chances created against Kaizer Chiefs.
The Chilli Boys endured a frustrating evening in front goal as they drew 0-0 with Chiefs at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.
“Too many missed chances. We had some great chances tonight. We should be burying them to be honest. We definitely deserved to come away with three points this evening and I think there was one or two opportunities they created during the 90 that I can remember but in the second half I think we controlled the tempo and the whole space of the game," Tinkler told SuperSport TV.
“We created numerous chances especially on the transition but it just won’t go in. The work rate today was very good. Defensively our structure I was very happy with that.
“First half, I thought we defended too deep but it was much better in the second half. We looked to press them a little bit higher and on the transition we were making the right decisions not so much in the first half but there was a fast improvement in the second half.
“Disappointed and happy at the same time because a point I would’ve been happy with but three would’ve been much better,” Tinkler added.
Chippa winger Ruzaigh Gamildien echoed his coach's sentiments after picking up the Man of the Match award.
“It’s frustrating to not take so many of our chances but we tried. We just have to go back to the drawing board and rectify them for the next game but we tried to get the goal it just wasn’t our day I guess,” he said.
