Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Lebohang Maboe believes the exposure at senior national team level will be massive for his career.

Maboe has played for Bafana in the COSAFA Cup, but playing in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers comes with much more attention for the former Maritzburg United midfielder.

Maboe got to start in Bafana's 6-0 victory over Seychelles at FNB Stadium on Saturday, creating goals for Lebogang Mothiba and Dino Ndlovu in the rout.

It was certainly a great performance from the attacking midfielder and he has another opportunity to make his mark when Bafana take on Seychelles again this afternoon.

A win would take Bafana to 10 points at the top of Group E.

"It certainly does (come with exposure). I just have to stay focused and I just have to help the national team whenever I am given the opportunity to. I just have to work hard, that's all I can say," Maboe said to KickOff.com recently after he was called up.

"I want to help the team qualify for AFCON and then everything else will follow."

Speaking to SAFA media after the Seychelles match at FNB Stadium, Maboe was pleased with his contribution.

"Going into the game, I told myself I have to give it my all. I have to go there and express myself, of which I did very well."

Bafana last qualified for AFCON in 2015 under former coach Shakes Mashaba. They are in a good position to qualify again. With three games left in the group, Stuart Baxter's men are on seven points.
