King content with 'wonderful' PSL bow

Black Leopards goalkeeper King Ndlovu was happy with the performance he gave on his PSL debut despite the 1-0 loss to Bloemfontein Celtic at Thohoyandou Stadium on Sunday.

Leopards recruited the 25-year-old from Jomo Cosmos last month.

"It was a wonderful experience," Ndlovu tells KickOff.com.

"It was a really nice experience to play in the PSL. Obviously I was a bit nervous when I first heard that I will be playing, but I believe in myself. So after the warm-up I was good to go.

"I didn't have too much to do. I had like only two saves to make I think. It was a good performance. The difference between the NFD and the PSL as a goalkeeper is that you work less in the PSL, but you need to concentrate because they punish you.

"Whereas in the NFD you can get away [with it] easily and you work more, you make a lot of saves. In the PSL the approach is a bit slow but it is very, very difficult because you always have to be on your toes and concentrate for the whole 90 minutes, because when they come they really come.

"Here [at Leopards] is like they trust every goalkeeper you know, so they are very confident in all of us you know. So everybody can play, even if they can say [Rotshidzwa] Muleka is playing next week I wouldn't mind because I know that he is still going to give the same perfomance.

"The competition is high, it keeps us going, which is good because any time they know that they have good goalkeepers."

The match on the weekend was marred by Lioda Duvha chairman David Thidiela's verbal attack on referee Victor Hlungwani.

Thidiela yesterday apologised for his remarks which had "open tribal undertones", according to SAFA.

Leopards, in 10th spot on the table with five points from as many games, next visit SuperSport United at Lucas Moripe Stadium this Sunday (15h00).
