Zidane sparks United rumours

Former Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane fuelled rumours of a sensational switch to Manchester United amid the uncertain future of Jose Mourinho.

Zidane, 46, has been without a job since announcing his resignation with Real at the end of May, straight after securing a third consecutive UEFA Champions League title in his first job.

His historic European coaching exploits in his two and half year spell in his first managerial role further included a LaLiga title which firmly established himself an elite manager on the continent - despite his 'relative inexperience'.

With the Frenchman stating he'd only return to football for 'the right job', while he enjoys a sabbatical with his family, reports in England have been rife that United's hierarchy have lined the '98 World Cup winner as beleaguered Jose Mourinho's successor.

And his recent comments with Spanish state broadcaster TVE has done little to defuse the speculation.

"No doubt about it, I'll be back coaching soon, because it's what I enjoy," he said.
