Libya coach Adel Amrouche couldn’t hide his excitement after securing a point against Bafana Bafana.
The Libyans maintained top spot in Group E after recording a 0-0 draw with Stuart Baxter's men on Saturday afternoon.
“This game was a tough game. I knew South Africa was not an easy team. I know the coach (Stuart Baxter) did a good job, but people talk too much but I know this coach did a very good job on this team," Amrouche told SuperSport TV.
“I think I had to study his tactics, but I think (and hope) in future (Bafana and Libya) can go to Afcon for the sake of the supporters of South Africa and the people of Libya because it’s a bit difficult out there.
“Now when I think about the people of Libya, I’m happy for this draw because it's given them something to cheer."
The Algerian-born coach made true to his promise pre-match to bring good football to the South Africans and explained why he is so obsessed with carpet football.
“This is the African style. I like this football, the samba football… seriously I’m not joking. This is our football, football of Africa.
“The people in Libya need this happiness. I didn’t take the Libyan job for money. I hope I can write my name in this story like I did with Burundi,” Amrouche said.
