Libya coach outlines intentions for Bafana

Libya coach Adel Amrouche respects Bafana Bafana but is adamant his side will go out with one intention in Durban, and that is to come away with maximum points.

Libya and South Africa are set to meet in a top-of-the-table Group E Africa Cup of Nations qualifying clash at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The two sides both won their opening round clashes against Seychelles and Nigeria respectively, and will now be looking to take an outright lead in round two of the campaign.

Despite being away from home, The Mediterranean Knights will not be settling for the minimum result against a Bafana side carrying huge expectations, as Amrouche emphasises his side’s intentions.

“It’s not about Bafana Bafana, for me the game is a game that we will prepare for to win. The rest is not our problem,” Amrouche tells KickOff.com.

“We’ve planned, and we have an objective and target to do something with this team, but I think we have a good squad and a good team that are motivated to do well.

“I know Bafana is a respectable team and they have high expectations, but we have our target and whether we play against Bafana, Super Eagles or Seychelles, we’re ready to face any team.

“For us, it’s a game like any other game but we obviously have our objectives and targets, and that is qualification for the next AFCON [in Cameroon next year].”

Libya have been camping in Johannesburg and training at Bidvest Wits' Sturrock Park base since their arrival in the country last weekend.

They are set to travel to Durban on Friday evening, before tomorrow's crunch clash. Kick-off of the encounter is scheduled for 15h00.
