Arsenal club-record signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been backed to replicate his blistering form displayed in the Premier League last season.
Aubamenyang, 29, joined the Gunners in January as Arsene Wenger's last signing at the club as his 22-year reign eventually came to an end.
His £56 million transfer from Borussia Dortmund ranked him as the club's record transfer and his return of 10 goals and four assists in his first 13 games for the club brought major optimism going into the new season.
However, under manager Unai Emery, the Gabon international has failed to score in his opening two league games and missed two gilt-edged chances in the London Derby last weekend.
"I am sure they are going to score if we create a lot of chances in the game," Emery said at a news conference on Thursday.
"Maybe the players cannot score three good chances in one match and on another day, I am sure they are going to do maybe the same chances in one match and score three.
"Aubameyang is a player who, in his career, has scored a lot and he is going to do that here also."
