Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane admits he was frustrated with his side's goalless draw with Highlands Park in the Absa Premiership.
The Brazilians resumed league matters with a point on home soil, after firing blanks against the Lions of the North.
Sundowns defender Ricardo Nascimento was the recipient of a red card in the second half after showing dissent towards referee Phelelani Ndaba.
“Yes, I’m very much frustrated with the way the game went on,” Mosimane told SuperSport TV.
“My players did whatever they had to do. I’m not encouraging Ricardo to get a red card. I’m the first one who speaks against it, and that was uncalled for, that’s how it is with my players. The other side, I’m not there to talk about it,” said Mosimane.
Gaston Sirino got a yellow card in the first half, and Mosimane admitted he wasn’t pleased about it even though it might have been the right call. However, he felt their opponents should have come under closer scrutiny from the officials.
“I was not happy with Sirino’s yellow card. The referee maybe he was right to give it, it’s the rules of the game. But what about the boy not getting anything after going at Denis [Onyango] a minute before that,” he said.
“There’s a difference being tough and robust. We managed that. There’s a difference being tough and tactically disciplined.
“We were tactically disciplined with 10 against 11. So it was a bit of street football,” he added.
