Chippa swap Malesela for Tinkler

Chippa United have confirmed the sacking of head coach Dan Malesela as well as the appointment of Eric Tinkler.

The Chilli Boys have officially become the first club to make coaching changes in the 2018/19 season, replacing Malesela with Tinkler after just three games, as reported on Wednesday evening.

A club statement on Thursday read: 'Chippa United hereby confirm that it has parted ways with head coach Dan Malesela.

'The club would like to thank coach Dan for his contribution to the club over the past and current season and wish him the best with his future endeavours.

'The club furthermore wishes to confirm the appointment of Eric Tinkler.'

With one draw and two defeats, Chippa currently occupy 15th spot on the Absa Premiership standings, perhaps driving club boss Siviwe Mpengesi into hitting the panic button.

Tinkler, who parted ways with SuperSport United in March, will start his tenure with his new club against his former employers next week Wednesday.
