Botswana Premier League outfit Extension Gunners are trying to acquire the services of Masibusane Zongo before the transfer deadline today.
Zongo has been without a club since leaving National First Division outfit Royal Eagles at the end of last season, and will be hoping he can secure a move to Gunners before the window closes at 17h00.
New Gunners chairman Tariq Babitseng is said to be a big admirer of the former SuperSport United and Bidvest Wits winger, and believes that signing Zongo will bring supporters back to their stadium.
According to an informant, talks were held over a possible move in South Africa on Wednesday and only time will tell if Gunners will be able to complete the deal before the window closes.
Zongo is one of the most talented players in South Africa, but his off-field behaviour has let him down and robbed the country’s supporters of seeing him terrorising opposition defenders.
Gunners tried to sign former Baroka FC and Township Rollers dribbling wizard Tshepo Matete, but the deal fell through.
Gunners, meanwhile, have signed former Vasco da Gama midfielder Dirang Moloi.
