Pirates last season managed to show a massive improvement on their previous campaign, in which they registered their lowest league position (12th) in the PSL era, by earning a second-place finish behind Absa Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns.

While their trophy drought continued, Milutin Sredojevic and his technical staff led the team to qualifying for the CAF Champions League for the first time since their runners-up finish in 2013.

Thus, the club saw it fit to honour those who played an integral part in their resurgence, while also rewarding up and coming stars who have yet to break into the first team for their efforts.

The nominees for Player of the Season are: Luvuyo Memela, Musa Nyatama, Thembinkosi Lorch, Justin Shonga, Innocent Maela and Ntsikelelo Nyauza.

The nominees for Pirates’ Reserve Player of the Season are: Zakhele Lepasa, Samuel Nkomo, Malefole Malaba, Andile Tshabalala and Grant Peters.
