Ronaldo: Portugal can still improve

Cristiano Ronaldo admits there is still plenty of room for improvement from Portugal at the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Selecção currently find themselves top of Group B following this week's win over Morocco, where Ronaldo took his goal tally at the tournament to four after clinching a 1-0 win over the Africans.

That follows on from his opening-round hat-trick against Spain, but Real Madrid superstar Ronaldo believes the team still need improvements if they are to go deep in this year's Russia showpiece.

"Our expectation is to continue our work and try to improve in the group phase," Ronaldo said.

"We're almost there (knockout stages) and then we'll see. We'll take things match after match. We will try to come first in the group."

"We knew if we lost we could be out," Ronaldo said. "We knew Morocco would be giving their all.

"It was a surprise at the start because they were so strong," he added. "I managed to score a goal, it was great for me."
