On-loan Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Mogakolodi Ngele says he wants to be at a club where he can play regularly, as he dodged questions about whether or not he sees a future with the Brazilians.

Ngele was loaned out to SuperSport United during the January transfer window, after struggling to break into the Sundowns team in the first half of the season. This is after he won the Absa Premiership title with Bidvest Wits last term, finishing the campaign with six goals and four assists in 23 matches in all competitions for the Clever Boys.

His return to the pitch at Sundowns this season was first delayed by the club’s decision to have him registered as a South African, and then he went onto struggle with a hamstring injury that has recently kept him out of the Matsatsantsa squad.

The Botswana international, who has one of the most educated left foots in the PSL, says he is the one who asked to get loaned out because he endured a frustrating first half of the season at Chloorkop, making just one appearance as a substitute against Cape Town City in December.

Since moving to Matsatsantsa, he has featured six times.

“I am the one who asked to leave because it can be frustrating. It does not help when you are not playing, so I told my agent that I want to leave and he communicated with them [Sundowns]. The coach [Pitso Mosimane] spoke with me before the start of the season, we had a one-on-one. He told me what he expects from me.

“I have enjoyed myself at SuperSport, but I have struggled with a hamstring injury since I returned from the national team.

Asked if he sees a future with Sundowns, Ngele said: “I want to be part of a team where I can get a chance to play.”
