Chippa United chairman Chippa Mpengesi wants the club to become one of the most recognisable sporting brands in South Africa.

The club will launch Chippa United TV today, a magazine show that will air on pay television channel SuperSport.

The club joins the likes of Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates, Bloemfontein Celtic, Bidvest Wits and SuperSport United who have television shows on SuperSport.

"This is a proud moment for the football club and we are happy to share this moment with our faithful supporters," said Mpengesi.

"Our strategy is clear; to become one of the most recognisable sporting brands in South Africa and beyond its borders.

"We are working hard on and off the field to take the Chippa United brand to the next level. The magazine show will further give us an opportunity to market this young brand," continued Mpengesi.

The show will reflect where it all started for Chippa, after making the giant leap from amateur football to the top flight.

"This club has a unique history and the show will reflect where the club comes from.

"The past eight years have been amazing and now it's time to tell our story through this magazine show.

"I would like to take this opportunity to thank my management team and everyone at the club for their efforts in putting this show together.

"I also want to send a word of gratitude to the producers of the show, TK Vision for their commitment and patience.

"This would not have been possible without SuperSport; their commitment to the development of football is second to none and we thank them for presenting our loyal supporters an opportunity to watch their show in the comforts of their homes," added Mpengesi.

Chippa United TV will provide fans with exclusive club content with management, technical team, staff and give a glimpse of the lives players live off the field.

The first episode airing on today will feature Mpengesi giving the low down on where the club started.

The show will be aired on SuperSport 4 (20h00), every third Thursday of the month.
