Bafana Bafana striker Dino Ndlovu is releasing a book this year on his life story titled 'The Winning Goal'.
The 28-year-old recently signed for Chinese side Hangzhou Greentown after a successful spell with Azerbaijani outfit Qarabağ, who he helped reach the group stages of this season's UEFA Champions League.
Ndlovu, who hails from Klerksdorp, has an interesting tale to tell, having also plied his trade in Israel and Cyprus, as well as for Mamelodi Sundowns, SuperSport United and Bloemfontein Celtic.
"The book is simply a story about me," Ndlovu tells KickOff.com from China.
"People should expect simplicity and I don't want my book to have drama and stuff.
"The reason I wrote the book is to make people aware of where I come from in terms of my background and to inspire young people that it's possible to make it. They need to believe in themselves."
The Winning Goal's author Sizwe Sithole expects the book to be launched in June, with excerpts of the work currently available on Amazon.
"I always admired and followed Dino Ndovu's career when he was still playing in South Africa," says Sithole, who is studying in Moscow, Russia.
"What was so inspiring was when he went to score the qualifying goal in the Champions League. The whole city of Baku celebrated him. The whole city waited for them at the airport the whole night.
"Dino was given an award for his goal scored against Fenerbahce. That's when I realised I have to do an article on Dino. We talked about it and instead of an article we decided to write a whole book about him because most South Africans do not know him. And we thought it will be through this book that his excellence will be known and his legacy will be celebrated."
Sithole adds: "The book talks about his life and all the challenges he encountered throughout his life."
Last year Cape Town City veteran Teko Modise released his controversial autobiography 'The Curse of Teko Modise'.
