Mbabane Swallows boss Victor Gamedze was gunned down after a soccer match in Swaziland on Sunday evening.

The prominent businessman and former Sihlangu Semnikati striker was on his way home after watching his team beat Manzini Wanderers 1-0 in the Ingwenyama Cup at Mavuso Stadium yesterday.

According to information gathered by KickOff.com, Gamedze stopped at a petrol station at eZulwini next to Mbabane to buy water when he was reportedly shot twice in the head.

The suspects are currently at large and are said to have ditched their getaway car at the Lundzi border post.

Swallows general manager Sandile Zwane confirmed Gamedze's death.

Gamedze, who was affectionately known as 'Maradona' during his playing days, last year declared his interest in buying the topflight status of an Absa Premiership club in South Africa.
