Mamelodi Sundowns have appointed Erik Anders Hamren as their head of technical.

Born in Ljusdal, Sweden, the 60-year-old brings a wealth of experience to Chloorkop, having worked as a coach in Denmark, Norway and in his country of birth.

Hamren was linked with a move to Sundowns last year as The Star newspaper reported that they were looking at bringing in the Swede and he has now been appointed to work closely with coach Pitso Mosimane.

Hamren, who has won coach of the year in Denmark and Norway, coached the Swedish national team between 2009 and 2016, taking the side to the 2012 Uefa European Championships.

His Swedish side came from 4-0 down to draw 4-4 with Germany in the 2014 Fifa World Cup qualifiers.
